14 October 2026 | 15:30 – 16:30 CEST | Webinar

As the use of methanol in hydrogen production continues to gain relevance in lower-carbon energy applications, understanding how to safely store, handle and operate methanol-based hydrogen systems is essential.

Join Methanex and Methanol Reformer, for a technical and practical webinar covering methanol safety, safe methanol handling, European regulatory requirements and real-world operational experience.

What will we cover?
  • Key properties and risks of methanol: toxicity, flammability and behaviour in the event of leaks.
  • Best practices for safe methanol storage: tank design, ventilation and leak detection.
  • Day-to-day methanol handling and operational safety: procedures, PPE and staff training.
  • Regulatory and compliance aspects in Europe: REACH, CLP and required documentation.
  • Emergency response: spill management, fire safety and first aid.
  • Common misconceptions about methanol: how methanol compares with other fuels and what this means for safe handling.
  • Real-world experience: practical insights and examples from hydrogen installations, including DRIV’s experience in Norway.

The session will combine technical, regulatory and practical perspectives on methanol safety in hydrogen production, with an opportunity for attendees to ask questions during the live Q&A.
